Create a Home Page

The Home page is the first page you see when opening Church Center, so you want to ensure people see the most important things first. You can create a traditional Home page with general details about your church or set the Me page as the start page so your congregation members can easily view their current information.

Configure Home Page

Add announcements and styled graphics with links, or display upcoming events and Giving funds.

Check out this sample Home page!

If you'd like some inspiration for your Home page, the Planning Center communities on Slack or Facebook are great ways for churches to share advice and connect using chat. Go to the #product-publishing channel on Slack to see custom page designs and shared templates!

Under Pages, select the Home page to edit it.

Design Home Page

Using the page editor, you can customize your Home page to fit the personality of your church by dragging blocks of information.

Choose a Block Type

Add different block types to your page depending on what kind of content you want to share.

Basic Blocks

Block Name

Content to be Added

Create a button and attach a hyperlink to it.

Add contact information that congregants can select or tap to contact your church.

Add a horizontal line to divide sections of your page.

Event schedule

Add a date, time, and description of an event.

Add an image. Select an image from your device, your saved library, or the Unsplash integration. Attach a hyperlink to the image to use it as a button.

Use the Image Sizing Guide to upload the right size and file type.

Enter an address to generate a map view on the page.

Section header

Add a header for a section of your page. You can add a background image, button, and text.

Add a link to your church's Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube page.

Add some text to your page.

Add a URL or embed code to a video hosted on YouTube, Vimeo, or Boxcast.

Add multiple items, such as buttons and images with hyperlinks and texts, and display them in a grid with up to three columns. You can adjust the number of columns based on mobile and desktop views.

It is recommended to have no more than 12 items per block.

Any content added to an item will show on the published page.

Planning Center Blocks

Add content from Planning Center products to your custom pages.

A page can hold one content block for each product.

Block Name

Content to be Added

Show up to six events, with past events dropping off automatically.

Link to a specific fund.

Header images are displayed with a 16:9 aspect ratio on both web and mobile.

  • The recommended dimensions are 2000x1125 pixels.

  • Images can be PNG, JPG, or GIF files.

Add a Linked Image

You can make your images clickable links so that when someone taps or clicks the graphic, they'll be taken to the linked page. You can link to another site or a People form from your styled graphic.

To create a linked image, select the image on the Home page and fill out the linking information.

  1. Enable the option to link the image.

  2. Enter the URL.

  3. Check the box to open the link in a new tab.

Preview or Share Home Page

While editing, you can preview the changes without making them visible to your congregation using Draft Mode.

Select the Page Navigation & Access dropdown to copy the link to your Home page, download its QR code, or verify that it is in your navigation. Your Home page must be public.

Me as Home Page

Instead of the traditional home page, you can set Me as your congregant's start page in Church Center! This page is personalized to each congregant and shows their schedule, group membership, registration history, and organizations. Congregants can set their schedules, email team leaders, customize their profile and settings, and manage their giving from this page.

Your congregation can still tap Home in Church Center to see your home page.

For more information on what congregants can do on the Me page, check out this article!

Set Me as Church Center Home Page

On the Navigation tab, toggle on Make Me the start page.

Select Save draft to apply the change. When you're ready to publish this change, select Publish.
